Have Camera Will Film - Team Roping - Vernon, Texas
I have been looking for a good opportunity to try out the cool new HD video recording on my Canon 5D Mark III. At the team roping in Vernon, I got my shot. Here's the first video. This one and more to come on my photography site at http://shannondsmithphotography.zenfolio.com/p350964766/h515f60da#h515f60da.

We Start 'em Young
Warming up a horse in the arena before a roping in Vernon, Texas, December 15, 2012.
This little guy wasn't roping . . . yet. But he was all cowboy. Check out the precisely adjusted hat and spurs. He means business.

Buckin' In The Falls 2012 - A Championship Bull Riding Event
This is what date night looks like on the plains, Championship Bull Riding at Buckin' In the Falls 2012 in Wichita Falls, Texas, with seats close enough for the bulls to kick dirt on you as they go by. There's a time a place for heels and pearls, but life doesn't get much better than boots and jeans and bull riding on a Saturday night.

Cowboy Break
My sweetheart looking over open fields near the Red River just after sunrise; wearing cowboy hat, chaps, and gloves, he takes a quick break after rounding up cattle on horseback before branding calves.

No Big Deal
"This'll be no big deal," he told me. "Head down to the mile line and you'll be able to see us moving them across the road."
One heifer and calf broke to the left, thinking they would go their own way, but they were quickly rounded up and rejoined the herd.
Sure enough, the three men made it look simple, driving 80 head of heifers and calves across open pasture and dirt road.
